Wellness Care and Preventative Medicine
A regular, thorough physical exam is just as important to your pet’s health as it is to your own health. Plum Creek Veterinary Hospital recommends a complete physical exam for your pet at least once a year. More frequent exams are highly encouraged, especially for pets in certain categories such as senior pets, pediatric pets, and those with ongoing disease processes requiring close monitoring. In veterinary medicine, we always perform a “nose to tail” exam, regardless of the reason for your visit. Your pets cannot speak for themselves, so it is important for us to carefully examine them for any potential problem.
The best type of medicine is preventative medicine. The team at Plum Creek Veterinary Hospital would much rather keep your dog or cat happy and healthy than treat a severe illness that could have been prevented. We will work together with you to form the best individualized preventative care plan tailored to your pet’s needs and lifestyle. This will include vaccinations against preventable diseases, parasite protection/prevention, nutritional planning and laboratory tests for certain life stages. From puppy/kitten-hood through the senior years, we want to keep your beloved pet as healthy as possible.
