July 2010

kittenI hope you are keeping your precious pets cool while the Texas summer is upon us! I can’t believe it’s already mid-July, and our hospital has been open for 2 months now. We are having a great time serving our community. Thank you to so many people in the community who have stopped by to introduce yourselves and bring pets in for a visit. I am truly amazed and blessed to have such enthusiastic support from everyone!

The big news this month is our official Grand Opening Celebration scheduled for Saturday, July 31. It will be held at the hospital from 1-8pm. I will be closed for practice that day so that we can open up the hospital for you to come by and meet the staff, take a tour of the facilities, learn at the various educational stations and grab some refreshments while you are here. I will also be holding various raffles for prizes such as free Hills prescription pet food, free Home Again microchips, free canine heartworm tests, free boarding passes for dog runs and kitty condos, some really great dog and cat goodie baskets, and rebate coupons to be used for future visits. One lucky dog/cat will win the grand prize of A FREE DENTAL PROPHYLAXIS valued at up to $350!! The drawings will be held at 7pm that evening and you do not need to be present during the drawing to win. I’m so excited and can’t wait to see who all of our winners will be. So stop by and bring the whole family to see the inner-workings of a veterinary hospital.

May 2010

I love May showers! Although we haven’t had many showers, the brief reprieve from the early summer heat is much appreciated.

Construction was complete on April 13 as planned. Not many commercial projects actually move along on time, but thanks to the wonderful crew at MedTech Construction, my hospital is ready on time! I am busy working on the final touches, décor, furniture and stocking with medical equipment and supplies. My friends, family and new team members have volunteered so much of their time to help me get all this accomplished. Thanks to all of their help, we are going to open as planned on THURSDAY, MAY 13th.

Front Porch Days in Plum Creek last weekend was a great success! Again, thanks to my team who volunteered their time to work the booth and meet the public. It was really fun introducing ourselves to the community for the first time.

So starting this Thursday, May 13, I will be scheduling appointments every 30 minutes, but I will also take walk-ins, especially in the beginning while my schedule will likely be light. I am so anxious to meet all the pets and their pet parents in our community.

Enjoy the spring and watch out for the rattlesnakes!

April 2010

Thank you so much for visiting the Plum Creek Veterinary Hospital website! I am so excited to become a part of this community and get to know you and your pets. Construction of the hospital is moving along on time (thank you MedTech Construction) and should be complete soon. Then I will spend a few weeks moving in equipment and inventory as well as spending time with our new team members on training. My goal is to open the hospital in mid-May.

If you have time, please visit other parts of this website to learn more about us. As you can tell, I believe in treating our beloved pets as family members. Each pet is different, and each pet deserves quality, individualized care.  We will work together, you and I, to make the right decisions and formulate the right wellness and treatment plans for your pet. I want you to realize that the “right” plan for you and your pet is not always the most costly plan. Communication is the key that will allow you to understand all options and do what is best for all involved.

Please come visit us in person when we open in May. You may call (512) 268-PETS (7387) to schedule an appointment or boarding, or just to find out more about our hospital. We look forward to adding you to our veterinary family!
